Three Minors and Eight Staff Arrested in Odisha Student Murder Case

In a disturbing case from Odisha, police have arrested three minors and eight staff members from the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences following the murder of a 14-year-old tribal student. The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute over sharing a bucket in the bathroom, leading to the tragic death of the boy. Authorities are investigating the involvement of the staff in threatening witnesses and destroying evidence. Arrests Made in Tragic Murder of Tribal Student

In a shocking incident, Odisha police have detained three minors along with eight teachers and staff members from the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in Bhubaneswar, following the murder of a 14-year-old tribal student. A senior official provided this information on Wednesday.


Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh informed reporters that the boy was allegedly strangled to death after a dispute arose over sharing a bucket in the bathroom. The minors are facing charges under Section 106(1) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.


Additionally, staff members, including the additional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and two teachers, have been arrested for allegedly threatening witnesses to conceal the incident, destroying evidence, and providing shelter to the offenders.
