Life Sentences for Agra Murder Case
In a significant ruling, a local court in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, has sentenced three brothers to life imprisonment nearly 24 years after the murder of a young man in the Fatehabad area. The verdict was delivered by Additional District and Sessions Judge Neeraj Kumar Mahajan.
According to Additional District Government Advocate Narendra Singh, the court found the brothers guilty of killing Raj Bahadur's son on April 23, 2001. Following the incident, Raj Bahadur filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the accused at the Fatehabad police station, reporting that his son had been shot dead.
The court imposed life sentences on Karua alias Radheshyam, Arun Kumar, and Umesh Kumar, along with a fine of ₹1.20 lakh. Charges against the accused were framed on April 2, 2002. After a lengthy trial, the court reached its decision based on the post-mortem report, testimonies from the complainant, and other witnesses.
