Three Alleged Drug Traffickers Arrested in Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir

Significant Drug Bust in Budgam District

In Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, law enforcement officials apprehended three suspected drug traffickers during two separate operations, seizing over four kilograms of illegal substances. This information was disclosed by the police on Saturday.


According to a police spokesperson, the Budgam police conducted operations in the Magam and Hardpanju areas, leading to the recovery of a substantial quantity of illicit drugs.


During a routine patrol at the Batpora crossing in Magam, a police team detained an individual who attempted to flee upon noticing the officers.


The spokesperson identified the suspect as Rouf Ahmad Hazam, a resident of Batpora, and reported that a search revealed approximately 2.1 kilograms of a substance resembling cannabis.


In a separate operation, police set up a checkpoint in the Bonijani village and observed two suspicious individuals. Despite their attempts to escape, both were apprehended.


The suspects were identified as Irfan Ahmad Mir and Owais Ahmad Bhat, residents of Hardulatina village. Upon searching them, police recovered 2.185 kilograms of a substance similar to cannabis.
