Following this traumatic experience, Kalma tragically set herself on fire. Yadav's modus operandi involved abducting women from their homes and subjecting them to horrific violence.

On August 13, 2004, Yadav was scheduled to appear in court, and the news spread quickly among the women of the city. As he was escorted into the courtroom under heavy police protection, a group of 400 women stormed in, determined to take justice into their own hands. As soon as he entered Courtroom No. 7, the women attacked him with sharp weapons. They first threw chili powder in his face, then proceeded to stab him with knives and stones. In the chaos, Yadav's genitals were severed, and his screams soon faded away. When the police finally regained control, they found the courtroom drenched in blood, with body parts scattered everywhere.
