Career and Background

Gyanesh Kumar is an IAS officer from the 1988 batch, belonging to the Kerala cadre. He has been serving as the Chief Election Commissioner since February 2025. His roots trace back to Agra in Uttar Pradesh.

Daughters and Sons-in-Law

Megha Roopam: An IAS officer from the 2014 batch of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, she has previously held the position of District Magistrate (DM) in Kasganj and Noida. Additionally, she is a national-level shooter.

Manish Bansal: Megha's husband, also an IAS officer from the 2014 batch, achieved an all-India rank of 53 and has served as DM in districts like Saharanpur and Agra.
