Cooking oil is a staple in most kitchens, essential for preparing a variety of dishes. However, recent findings reveal a troubling connection between refined oil and health risks, leading to numerous fatalities each year.


According to research from the Kerala Ayurvedic University, refined oil is responsible for approximately 2 million deaths annually.


Health Risks Associated with Refined Oil

The consumption of refined oil can lead to severe health issues, including DNA damage, RNA destruction, heart attacks, blockages, brain damage, strokes, diabetes, hypertension, impotence, cancer, weakened bones, joint pain, back pain, kidney damage, liver dysfunction, high cholesterol, vision impairment, reproductive issues, and skin diseases.


How Refined Oil is Processed

Refined oil is produced by extracting oil from seeds, including their husks. This process involves removing impurities to create a tasteless, odorless, and colorless product.


Washing – The washing process for refined oil utilizes water, salt, caustic soda, sulfur, potassium, acids, and other hazardous chemicals to eliminate impurities. This results in a thick waste similar to tar, which is often repurposed for tire manufacturing. The use of acids in this process can render the oil toxic.
