Hyderabad, July 31 - The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, has announced that all individuals suffering from thalassemia and sickle cell anemia in the state will receive pensions. These conditions are hereditary blood disorders. The Chief Minister has instructed officials to promptly identify eligible beneficiaries and initiate the relief approval process.

A statement released late Thursday indicated that during a meeting, the Chief Minister directed the Panchayat Raj department officials to commence pension distribution for identified beneficiaries starting from August 15. He emphasized that all widows, women living without spouses, weavers, and those involved in toddy tapping should receive pensions as per the existing scheme. Additionally, he mandated that every village in the state must have a proper road and a village panchayat office.

In light of the anticipated reduced rainfall due to the El Niño phenomenon, the Chief Minister also urged officials to take necessary precautions regarding drinking water supply.
