Telangana's Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, recently honored Indian cricketer Tilak Varma in light of India's remarkable victory at the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The final match saw India triumph over New Zealand by a significant margin of 96 runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium located in Ahmedabad.


This victory not only marks India's consecutive T20 World Cup titles but also establishes the team as the first men's squad to defend the T20 World Cup successfully. Varma, a left-handed batsman, contributed significantly to the team's success, amassing 207 runs across nine matches with an impressive strike rate of 154.47.


Ricky Ponting Praises India's Strength

In related news, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting commended the current Indian cricket team, asserting that they have positioned themselves as one of the most formidable white-ball teams in history.
