Hyderabad's Theatre Premiere Request

Hyderabad: On Wednesday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy addressed actor Nani's appeal for permission to attend the premiere of his film The Paradise at a theatre located at RTC X Roads in Hyderabad.

In a message posted on ‘X’, the Chief Minister requested that Nani submit a formal application to the local police station. He expressed his appreciation for Nani's adherence to safety protocols and his dedication to the film, which is helmed by the talented Telangana director, Srikanth Odela.

To facilitate effective crowd management and ensure public safety, the Chief Minister advised, "Please submit an official application to the designated local police station. The relevant team will evaluate the request and make a decision accordingly."

Nani's request was directed not only to the Chief Minister but also to Minister of Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and the Telangana police.

In his post, Nani expressed, "This is a request from a cinema enthusiast who has cherished the art form since childhood. For me, cinema is best enjoyed in the company of fellow fans. The RTC X Roads theatre holds a special significance for that experience in Hyderabad."

He continued, "I would be thrilled to attend the premiere of The Paradise on September 23 and share the film with our audience, the very people we created it for. The true joy of filmmaking lies in experiencing the audience's reactions alongside them. We will adhere to all necessary protocols and safety measures, which will be our top priority. I hope you will kindly consider my request. Thank you."

This request comes in light of increased scrutiny surrounding film premieres in Telangana, particularly following a tragic incident in December 2024 at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule, which resulted in a woman's death and serious injuries to her son. Following this, actor Allu Arjun and the theatre management faced legal action.

Authorities subsequently filed charges against 23 individuals, leading to stricter regulations for movie premieres and promotional events. These new rules emphasize crowd safety assessments as a critical component in the approval process for high-profile film events.
