Tej Pratap Yadav Sent to Jail

Tej Pratap Yadav, a former minister and leader of the Jan Shakti Janata Dal, has been sent to Beur Central Jail following allegations of attempting to enforce a Bihar shutdown in protest against the NEET paper leak. This action was taken by the police after a magistrate ordered his judicial custody.

Concerns Raised by Tej Pratap's Lawyer

Jagannath Singh, the lawyer representing Tej Pratap, has raised serious questions regarding the police's actions. He stated that Tej Pratap was apprehended at a mall in Patna on Saturday evening at 7:30 PM, while the FIR was filed at the police station early Sunday at 12:15 AM. The lawyer plans to file a bail petition in court on Monday, highlighting the police's negligence.

Tejashwi Yadav Issues a Warning

Tejashwi Yadav, the acting president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and leader of the opposition in the assembly, has come forward in support of his elder brother. He stated, "My brother has been wrongfully arrested and falsely accused. The Bihar BJP government is warned to withdraw all cases against the shutdown supporters, or we will initiate a major movement."

Tejashwi also criticized Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, questioning why such authoritarian and oppressive actions are being taken in Bihar when the central government is willing to withdraw cases against protesters in Delhi.

Prashant Kishor Speaks Out

During the Bankipur assembly by-election, Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraj party, claimed that Tej Pratap Yadav is being targeted for supporting their candidates. Kishor mentioned that Tej Pratap had recently announced his support for the Jan Suraj candidate in the by-election, which led to police action at the behest of the ruling party.

Sister Rohini Acharya Condemns Arrest

Rohini Acharya, Tej Pratap's elder sister residing in Singapore, condemned the arrest on the social media platform X. She expressed that raising a voice for the rights of students and youth is not a crime. She accused the Samrat Chaudhary government of misusing the police to intimidate political opponents and stated that they are afraid of public outrage.
