Shooting Incident in Eagle Vale

Sydney, August 11: Authorities in New South Wales have detained two teenage boys following a shooting that occurred early Tuesday morning in southwest Sydney.

Police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence in Eagle Vale around 2 AM. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

Shortly after, officers attempted to intercept a suspected stolen hatchback seen in the vicinity. The vehicle did not stop, leading to a police chase that ended when the hatchback collided with a tree.

Three individuals exited the vehicle and fled the scene. Law enforcement apprehended two boys, aged 15 and 17, after conducting a search of the area, while the third individual remains at large.

A search of the abandoned vehicle revealed a firearm, which will be subjected to forensic analysis. Police have set up multiple crime scenes and initiated an investigation into the shooting.

In a separate incident on August 1, a 25-year-old man was charged for allegedly assaulting a police officer in Yeronga, Brisbane. Officers were called to the scene around 5:50 PM, where they encountered a man wielding a piece of wood, which he reportedly used to threaten them.

The suspect climbed onto a police vehicle and, after several attempts by the police, including the dog squad, to engage him, he tried to escape on foot. During his arrest, he allegedly assaulted a senior constable, who was later hospitalized but has since been released.

The man faces charges for serious assault on a police officer while armed and causing bodily harm.
