TCS Employee Suspended Amid Allegations of Religious Conversion in Nashik
Suspension of TCS Employee Over Serious Allegations
Nashik: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has taken the step of suspending an employee named Nida Khan, who has been identified as the primary suspect in a case related to alleged religious conversions in Nashik, Maharashtra, as per an official statement from the company.
The suspension order, issued on April 9, 2026, indicates that Khan, who holds the position of Process Associate, has been suspended immediately due to the gravity of the accusations against her.
TCS acknowledged that it was informed about a "serious matter" involving Khan, who is reportedly in police or judicial custody at this time.
"Given the seriousness of the reported issue and your current inability to fulfill your job responsibilities, the Company has opted to suspend you immediately until further notice and decisions regarding this matter," the order stated.
The communication also mentioned that Nida Khan's access to the company's internal systems has been temporarily revoked, and she has been instructed to return any company property in her possession.
Additionally, she has been told not to report to any office or work remotely until further instructions from the HR department.
The company emphasized the importance of confidentiality regarding this situation and warned that failure to comply could lead to disciplinary measures.
Allegations suggest that Nida Khan had purportedly encouraged some female employees to adopt Islamic practices in their attire and behavior. Some complainants have claimed they felt pressured to engage in specific religious activities, such as performing namaz, altering their dietary choices, and adopting religious symbols.
However, officials have clarified that these allegations are part of an ongoing investigation and have not been definitively proven.
Authorities are actively investigating the claims to ascertain the validity of the allegations and the extent of any misconduct.
In the meantime, TCS has stated that the suspension is a temporary administrative measure based on the seriousness of the situation and does not imply a final judgment of guilt.
Further actions will be determined based on the investigation's findings and the conclusions drawn by the relevant authorities.
