In Himachal Pradesh, Tattapani, renowned for its hot water springs, is poised for a tourism uplift with the introduction of a contemporary bathing facility and a community center aimed at enhancing the experience for both pilgrims and tourists.

On Friday, Jagat Singh Negi, the Minister for Revenue, Horticulture, Tribal Development, and Public Grievances Redressal, visited the proposed locations for these new amenities at Tattapani, a site of religious importance linked to the traditions of Rishi Jamdagni.

During his inspection, the minister approved the site for the modern bathing facility and instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) to draft the necessary plans and cost estimates within a month. He emphasized the need for swift action to ensure that visitors can soon enjoy upgraded bathing options.

The community building is slated for development in the second phase of the project.

Enhancing Visitor Experience and Destination Development

Tattapani, famous for its hot springs and spiritual significance, draws many devotees for ritual bathing. The new facility is anticipated to enhance the bathing experience by offering organized and modern amenities, thereby boosting the area's appeal for religious tourism.

Additionally, the minister urged officials to prioritize other public convenience projects at Tattapani, such as constructing footpaths and repairing the police check post. Representatives from the Kol Dam management also agreed to address the issues raised during the visit.

Improving access and basic infrastructure is crucial for making the site more welcoming, especially during peak pilgrimage seasons.

Addressing Environmental Concerns

Negi also took the opportunity to assess the silt accumulation in the lake during a boat tour, assuring residents that measures would be taken to tackle the issue promptly.

The planned bathing facility, community center, and supporting infrastructure are part of broader efforts to enhance Tattapani's facilities. Timely execution of these projects could significantly improve visitor convenience and stimulate tourism activities in the region.

Deputy Commissioner Mandi, Apoorv Devgan, provided the minister with insights regarding the proposed sites and facilities.

Present during the inspection were SDM Karsog Alisha Chauhan, senior Congress leader Mahesh Raj, Kol Dam management officials including DGM Anjala Agrawal, representatives from various departments, Tattapani gram panchayat pradhan Prem Raina, and other officials.

The next immediate step involves preparing the drawings and estimates within a month, after which the timeline for construction and project costs will be clarified.
