Strong Performances on Day 2

On Day 2 of the Orleans Masters 2026, India's Tanvi Sharma, along with the men's doubles pair of Hariharan Amsakarunan and MR Arjun, showcased impressive skills to progress further in the tournament. Tanvi, who had previously secured a significant victory against Thailand's second seed Supanida Katethong, continued her winning streak by defeating fellow Indian player Anmol Kharb in straight games, with scores of 21-14 and 21-17, thus advancing to the Round of 16.

Men's Doubles Success

In the men's doubles category, Hariharan and Arjun achieved a solid win against Scotland's Alexander Dunn and Adam Pringle. The Indian duo fought hard in the first game, narrowly winning 26-24, before taking control in the second game with a score of 21-14, completing the match in just 35 minutes to secure their spot in the quarterfinals.

Srikanth's Early Exit

Unfortunately, former World No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth faced an early exit from the tournament, losing in the first round to Denmark's Magnus Johannesen. Despite starting strong with a 5-2 lead in the first game, Srikanth was unable to maintain momentum as Johannesen surged ahead, ultimately winning the first game 21-12. The second game saw Johannesen continue his dominance, finishing with a score of 21-10 in just 26 minutes.

Ayush Shetty Advances

While Srikanth's journey ended prematurely, other Indian players made their mark. In men's singles, Ayush Shetty triumphed over compatriot Kiran George in a thrilling three-game match. After losing the first game 17-21, Shetty rallied back to win the next two games 21-10 and 21-17, moving on to the second round.
