Trust Vote Success for CM C Joseph Vijay


In a significant political development, Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's administration successfully passed a trust vote in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Wednesday. The CM received backing from various parties, including Congress, VCK, and a faction of the AIADMK led by SP Velumani and C Ve Shanmugam.


Upon the Assembly's session commencement, CM Vijay promptly introduced a resolution for a vote of confidence, allowing MLAs from all parties to express their views on the matter.


Following a division-wise voting process overseen by Speaker JCD Prabhakar, it was confirmed that the resolution had garnered support, with 144 MLAs voting in favor, 22 against, and five remaining neutral, including members from PMK and BJP.


Notably, the main opposition party, DMK, opted to walk out prior to the voting process.


Among those who supported the government was MLA S Kamaraj, who had been expelled from AMMK.
