T-Mobile Service Issues Reported

On Monday afternoon, numerous T-Mobile customers experienced significant service disruptions, with many devices showing "SOS" mode and losing connection to the network. Downdetector reported over 140,000 incidents related to these issues, primarily concerning a lack of mobile signal.

Users took to Reddit to share their experiences, with reports coming from states such as Utah, Missouri, Arizona, Illinois, Virginia, Georgia, and California. Many noted that their phones were stuck in "SOS" mode, which prevents regular calls but still allows emergency calls to 911.

T-Mobile's customer service team on X acknowledged the various service complaints but has yet to provide details on the cause or extent of the outage.

Steps to Take When Your Phone Displays "SOS"

If your device shows "SOS" mode, you can still make emergency calls to 911, as these calls can connect through other networks or satellite services. Additionally, users can enable Wi-Fi Calling in their phone settings to make regular calls when cellular service is down.

In the absence of Wi-Fi, some applications like Google Maps can function offline, and payment apps typically do not depend on cellular service, allowing them to work as usual. Apple suggests toggling Airplane Mode on for about 15 seconds and then turning it off to help the device reconnect to the network if service resumes.
