Swati Maliwal's Shift to BJP

New Delhi. Swati Maliwal, a member of the Rajya Sabha, has announced her departure from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and her decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She accused Arvind Kejriwal of orchestrating an assault on her at her residence and pressuring her to withdraw a legal case. Maliwal expressed her trust in Prime Minister Modi's leadership as a reason for her switch.

In a recent interview, Maliwal launched a scathing attack on both AAP and Kejriwal. She stated, "I have left AAP and joined BJP," urging those interested in constructive politics to consider joining the BJP.

‘My Journey with Kejriwal Since 2006’
Maliwal revealed that she has been working alongside Kejriwal since 2006, supporting him in various movements. She alleged that Kejriwal had her assaulted at home and threatened her when she raised her voice. She claimed that the party had silenced her in Parliament for two years, which she found disgraceful, labeling Kejriwal as anti-women.

Serious Allegations Against Kejriwal
Maliwal accused AAP of controlling Punjab remotely, turning it into a personal ATM. She highlighted issues like rampant sand mining and drug abuse in Punjab, stating that leaders who speak out face legal repercussions. She characterized Kejriwal as synonymous with corruption and thuggery.

Trust in Modi's Leadership
Maliwal referred to Prime Minister Modi as the world's most popular leader, praising him and Home Minister Amit Shah for making historic decisions for the country's development. She commended initiatives like 'Operation Sindoor' and the eradication of Naxalism, as well as the introduction of the Women's Reservation Bill in Parliament, reiterating her complete faith in Modi's leadership.

‘No Agency Can Intimidate Me’
Upon joining BJP, Maliwal asserted that she is not afraid of anyone and that no agency can intimidate her. She remarked that no decent person has remained with Kejriwal, questioning how he could accuse others when he himself is involved in corruption. She noted that her popularity among the public contributed to AAP's defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections.

‘Kejriwal is the Real Traitor’
Maliwal labeled Kejriwal as the true traitor, recalling how he once wore torn pants and used a cheap pen during his activism. She expressed disappointment that after gaining power, he built a lavish house and surrounded himself with luxury, while using Punjab as an ATM. She criticized the security provided to the man who allegedly assaulted her, now serving as a chief advisor to Bhagwant Mann, highlighting the hypocrisy of Kejriwal's past statements against VIP protocols.

‘A Well-Considered Decision’
Maliwal concluded that her decision to leave AAP was well thought out, especially given the party's stance against supporting the Women's Reservation Bill. She emphasized her lifelong commitment to women's rights and stated that remaining in AAP would have forced her to sign a statement opposing women's reservation in the country.
