Suvendu Adhikari's Potential Appointment

Suvendu Adhikari is likely to be named the next Chief Minister of West Bengal, with a decision expected during the upcoming legislative meeting. He secured victories in both the Nandigram and Bhabanipur assembly constituencies, notably defeating the incumbent Chief Minister by over 15,000 votes in Bhabanipur. Reports indicate that Samik Bhattacharya, the head of the BJP's Bengal unit, has proposed Adhikari's name for the Chief Minister position. Both Adhikari and Bhattacharya were considered strong contenders for the role.

Ministerial Prospects for Agnimitra Paul

Agnimitra Paul, the newly elected BJP leader from the Asansol South constituency, is anticipated to receive a ministerial position, potentially as Deputy Chief Minister. She attended the BJP's legislative meeting and expressed that the party's impressive victory fulfills the dream of Syama Prasad Mukherjee. Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Dakshineswar Kali Temple upon arriving in Kolkata on Friday. He landed at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport around 11:10 AM and has been appointed as the central observer for the BJP's legislative meeting. He was welcomed at the airport by state BJP president Samik Bhattacharya and senior leaders including Suvendu Adhikari, Dilip Ghosh, Rahul Sinha, and Sukanta Majumdar.

Amit Shah's Visit and Legislative Meeting

Following his arrival at the airport, Shah departed for the Dakshineswar Temple with Bhattacharya and Adhikari. After offering prayers at the temple, he proceeded to a hotel in New Town, where he will stay during his two-day visit. Shah is set to participate in the BJP's legislative meeting today, where the party may elect its leader from the legislative assembly. This meeting is scheduled to take place at the Biswa Bangla Convention Center in New Town, with all 207 victorious candidates from the BJP expected to attend.
