On May 8, 2026, the nomination phase for the Panchayati Raj Institutions elections in the Bharmour block saw a significant uptick, with 239 candidates submitting their nomination papers for various positions.

Sub-Divisional Officer and Returning Officer Vikas Sharma provided insights into the nominations, which included:

44 candidates vying for the position of Pradhan

46 candidates for Up-Pradhan

123 candidates for Ward Members

23 candidates for Panchayat Samiti

With these recent filings, the total nominations in the initial two days have reached 435. Sharma highlighted that on May 7, 196 candidates had already filed their papers, while the following day saw 239 nominations added.
