Supreme Court to Review Saudi Student's Plea for CBSE Exam Results

The Supreme Court has agreed to review a plea from a Saudi Arabian student seeking the declaration of his Class XII improvement exam results by the CBSE. The student, Pransu Jigarkumar Patel, argues that the delay in results is jeopardizing his higher education opportunities. The court emphasized the importance of the situation, urging the CBSE to act swiftly. Supreme Court Takes Up Case of Saudi Student

New Delhi: On Monday, the Supreme Court agreed to consider a petition from a Saudi Arabian student requesting the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to announce his Class XII improvement exam results.

A bench led by Justices Manmohan and Vijay Bishnoi issued a notice to the CBSE and its regional representative regarding the student's plea.

The bench emphasized the importance of the situation, stating, "This concerns a child's future; he risks missing out on all his admissions... Whatever it takes, work hard," while instructing the CBSE's counsel to gather information on the case.

The court was addressing a plea from Pransu Jigarkumar Patel, who argued that the CBSE had not released his results despite a special assessment scheme for students whose exams were canceled in several Gulf nations.

Patel's petition highlighted that the delay in declaring his results has put his higher education opportunities at risk, limiting his chances for admission.

He participated as a private candidate in the CBSE Class XII improvement exams in 2026 from Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia, covering subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, and Computer Science.

Patel mentioned that he had sent multiple requests to the CBSE on May 17, May 21, and May 30, seeking a resolution, but received no response.

The CBSE had previously canceled the Class XII board exams in seven Middle Eastern countries, including Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, due to rising tensions linked to the Iran-Israel-US conflict.
