Supreme Court's Decision on NEET-UG 2025

New Delhi: On Friday, the Supreme Court declined to consider a petition that alleged significant mistakes in three questions from the NEET-UG 2025 exam.

The case was presented to a bench comprising Justices P S Narasimha and A S Chandurkar, who advised the petitioner's lawyer to seek recourse through the appropriate high court.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) is organized by the National Testing Agency for students seeking admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related programs in both public and private institutions nationwide.

The petitioner's counsel argued that the three questioned items were fundamentally flawed, supported by two expert opinions that validated his claims.

He noted that these questions could potentially alter the petitioner's score by 13 marks.

The bench remarked that the examination had already concluded.

"You should withdraw this and approach the high court," the bench suggested, emphasizing that they did not wish to limit the petitioner's options.

The counsel requested that the Supreme Court appoint a panel of experts to evaluate the disputed questions within three days.

He expressed that the bench could reconsider the matter after reviewing the experts' opinions.

After the bench indicated its reluctance to proceed with the petition, the counsel chose to withdraw it.

Previously, on July 4, the Supreme Court had also rejected a different petition contesting the NEET-UG 2025 results due to a claimed error in one of the questions.
