Justice Vinod Kumar's Transfer Recommendation
The Supreme Court Collegium has proposed the transfer of Justice T. Vinod Kumar from the Telangana High Court to the Madras High Court. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Chief Justice B.R. Gavai on May 26.
Born on November 17, 1964, Justice Kumar completed his early education in Suryapet, located in the Nalgonda district, and later pursued further studies in Hyderabad. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and L.L.B. degrees from Osmania University.
Justice Kumar was enrolled as an advocate with the Andhra Pradesh Bar Council in 1988 and began his career in the chambers of senior advocate Ravi. In 2015, he was appointed as a senior standing counsel for income tax matters and later, in 2016, as a special standing counsel for commercial tax issues, a position he held until his promotion. He was appointed as a judge of the Telangana High Court and took his oath on August 26, 2019.
