A National Lok Adalat was convened in Kangra district under the leadership of Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, the Executive Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, along with District & Sessions Judge Chirag Bhanu Singh from the District Legal Services Authority, Kangra, at Dharamshala.
This Lok Adalat addressed a variety of cases, including pre-litigation issues, cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act, recovery suits, labor disputes, utility bill concerns (for electricity and water), Section 125 CrPC cases, compoundable criminal offenses, motor accident claims, matrimonial conflicts, land acquisition disputes, revenue matters, and other civil cases, both pending and pre-litigation.
From a total of 10,232 cases that were scheduled, resolutions were achieved in 5,429 cases, leading to the recovery of ₹5,07,58,589.
This initiative showcased the efficiency of Lok Adalats in delivering swift, amicable, and cost-effective justice, significantly alleviating the load on conventional courts.
