The inaugural Gram Sabha of the Bagdu Gram Panchayat was held successfully, presided over by Panchayat Pradhan Meena Kumari. The event saw the participation of Deputy Pradhan Anil Kumar, all ward members, panchayat representatives, and a significant number of local residents.
During her opening remarks, Pradhan Meena Kumari expressed her appreciation to the community and committed to fulfilling her duties with integrity, transparency, and dedication.
Key Resolutions from the Gram Sabha:
- Kinara Blessing Amount: To alleviate the financial strain on families during celebrations, a voluntary blessing fee of ₹2100 was established for visiting kinnars (transgender groups).
- Security Protocols: It was mandated that migrant vendors and outsiders register at the local police station. Homeowners renting to outsiders will be accountable for police verification.
- Anti-Drug Initiatives: Those involved in drug trafficking, liquor smuggling, or criminal activities will not be prioritized for government schemes at the panchayat level. The youth were encouraged to help foster a drug-free community.
- Fair Selection Process: The distribution of benefits from the IRDP and other government programs will be strictly based on eligibility criteria.
Residents brought up concerns regarding roads, drinking water, sanitation, and other local issues. The panchayat assured that solutions would be implemented in phases, depending on the available budget.
Pradhan Meena Kumari also pointed out that the panchayat is currently operating from a rented facility, although land has been allocated for a permanent Panchayat Bhawan. She requested the state government to allocate funds for its construction.
In closing, she reiterated that Gram Panchayat Bagdu is committed to development, transparency, and serving the public.
