Successful Conclusion of the Third All India Cashew Convention in Jaipur
Overview of the Cashew Convention
Jaipur. The third All India Cashew Convention, organized by the All India Cashew Association (AICA) in collaboration with Eventell Global Advisory and supported by APEDA, has successfully concluded. Over 845 delegates and 1,000 visitors from across the country participated in this event, which featured more than 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies, products, and solutions related to the cashew industry.
Innovative Technologies and Consumer Engagement
During the convention, live demonstrations of 10 cutting-edge machinery technologies were conducted, providing participants with firsthand insights into advancements that enhance efficiency and modernization in the cashew processing sector.
For the first time, the convention included a B2C initiative called the 'Cashew Festival,' organized in partnership with NDFCI. This festival aimed to raise awareness among consumers about the nutritional benefits and various culinary uses of cashews. Eight celebrity chefs participated, presenting over 80 innovative dishes featuring cashews.
Educational Initiatives and Industry Insights
An 'Experience Zone' was also created at the Cashew Festival, where engaging and straightforward presentations highlighted scientific facts, nutritional properties, and health benefits of cashews. This unique initiative received an enthusiastic response, with over 1,000 families participating.
During the opening ceremony, Man Prakash Vijay, Deputy General Manager of APEDA, urged industry stakeholders to leverage various government schemes to modernize manufacturing, expand market reach, and boost cashew exports.
Future Directions for the Cashew Industry
Mohammad Moin Afak from the Regional Authority of DGFT in Jaipur shared insights about the recently launched Export Mission by the Indian government, highlighting available export opportunities for the industry.
A working paper on the AICA Model Contract and the AICA Model Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Centre was also presented, inviting feedback from industry stakeholders to develop a more organized and transparent system for resolving contractual and commercial disputes.
A Historic Milestone for AICA
AICA President, Mr. Bola Rahul Kamath, remarked,
> “The third AICA Cashew Convention marks a historic moment for AICA as we launched the first generic promotion initiative for cashews in Jaipur, a major market for cashews and a hub for food and culinary innovation. I extend my gratitude to all the chefs who accepted our invitation and showcased their innovative products featuring cashews. AICA will continue to work towards generic promotion of cashews in the future.”
