Students Demand Action Against Illegal Paramedical Institutes in Nalbari
Concerns Raised Over Unrecognized Paramedical Institutes
Nalbari, Dec 5: On Friday, the All Nalbari District Students’ Union presented a memorandum to the District Commissioner, urging stringent measures against two unlicensed paramedical institutes located in Chamata and Nalbari town.
These institutes, operating under the name of the Northeast Council of Allied Health Science, are reportedly functioning without any official recognition. This situation has left over 300 students in a state of academic and financial distress.
Authorities have confirmed that the main suspect, Bokul Sarma, has fled, while another individual, Paresh Barman, has been apprehended.
Students and union representatives voiced their discontent regarding how such institutions managed to operate without oversight.
A member of the Students' Union questioned, "How could these institutes continue for so long in a district that has a Joint Director of Health Services?"
He further noted that numerous students had invested significant amounts of money, believing the courses offered were legitimate.
"These students placed their trust in the institute and spent their savings. Now, their futures are uncertain," he remarked.
The Union is calling for the arrest of all individuals involved in running these fraudulent institutes.
"It’s not just about one or two people; everyone connected to this scam must be held accountable," the member emphasized.
The memorandum submitted to the District Commissioner demands immediate action and a thorough investigation into how these institutions were permitted to operate.
