Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh), July 27 - Two students, approximately 20 years old and residents of Mahadev Colony in Faridpur, have accused a member of a Hindu organization of misconduct. They are urging the government and police to take strict action against the alleged assailant. Radheshyam, the officer in charge of Faridpur police station, assured that the students, Ayush Ranjan and Rahul Pal, are safe, and police presence in the area has been increased.

According to Ayush, he and Rahul participated in a protest in Delhi on July 23, demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from his position as Union Minister of Education. They spent the night at a gurdwara, and on the morning of July 25, while heading to Jantar Mantar, a car stopped in front of them.

The occupants of the vehicle allegedly confronted them, using abusive language. Ayush claimed that one of the attackers identified himself as Satyam Pandit and physically assaulted them. He noted that police were nearby during the incident, but they felt their complaint would not be taken seriously, leading them to refrain from reporting it at the time.

A video linked to the protest featuring Satyam Pandit has surfaced on social media, showing him allegedly questioning two young protesters about their names, addresses, and religion, and striking one of them. The video also captures the abusive language used during the encounter. Despite multiple attempts, contact with Satyam Pandit has not been established.

Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party (SP), posted on 'X' on July 25, stating, "For the information of protesters across the country! Everyone should witness the misbehavior, abusive language, and violence from the BJP and their associates." He criticized the BJP for breaking promises made to the youth just hours after making them, suggesting that this behavior is a repeat of their historical actions.

Yadav demanded the immediate arrest of the accused, asserting that the BJP leaders are not even true to their promises. SP district president Shubalesh Yadav expressed the party's support for the democratic rights of students and youth, calling for a fair investigation and strict action against those responsible. Former minister Bhagwat Saran Gangwar condemned the mistreatment of the students, stating it goes against democratic values and called for an impartial inquiry.
