Strengthening Rail Connectivity in Madhya Pradesh and Northeast India

Key Meeting on Rail Connectivity

New Delhi/Bhopal/Gwalior. Today, Union Minister for Communications and Development of the Northeast Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, held a significant meeting at the Rail Bhawan in New Delhi with Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The discussion focused on enhancing direct rail connectivity for regions including Gwalior, Guna, and Chambal in Madhya Pradesh, as well as various projects aimed at improving rail links in the Northeast.


Chambal Region to Get Enhanced Rail Links

During the meeting, there was a constructive dialogue regarding additional halts for major trains in the Chambal area, the introduction of new train services, the construction of new rail lines, and expediting pending rail expansion projects. Scindia emphasized that improved rail connectivity would not only enhance passenger convenience but also invigorate regional trade, tourism, and industrial activities. Furthermore, discussions were held on strengthening rail services in the Northeast, improving connectivity in remote areas, and expanding infrastructure. He stated that enhancing connectivity in Northeast India is crucial for national unity and balanced development.


Commitment to Modern Infrastructure

Scindia expressed confidence that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is dedicated to connecting every region of the country with modern infrastructure through a 'Whole of Government' approach. He noted that only through comprehensive and balanced development can the vision of a 'Developed India by 2047' be realized, with rail connectivity being a vital component of this journey.
