A Disturbing Wedding Night Experience
The wedding night is a significant occasion for every couple, often filled with joy and excitement. However, an unusual incident occurred in Kanpur district, Uttar Pradesh, that left the bride in tears the following morning. What transpired on that wedding night? Let's delve into the details.
This incident took place in a village within the Manglapur police jurisdiction. On Monday, May 9, a young couple tied the knot. The bride hailed from Manglapur, while the groom was from a nearby village. The groom's party arrived on time, and the bride's family welcomed them warmly. Later that afternoon, the couple exchanged vows with the officiant.
After the wedding rituals were completed, the bride's parents bid her farewell, sending her off to her new home. Upon arriving at her in-laws' house in the evening, relatives and neighbors came to greet her, creating a lively atmosphere filled with laughter. As night approached, it was time for the wedding night celebrations. Friends playfully teased the groom, while the in-laws encouraged the bride to join the festivities in their room.
However, the next morning, the bride woke up in tears. She immediately called her parents to share her distressing experience. Concerned, her parents rushed to her in-laws' house and even contacted the police.
When the police arrived, they listened to the entire story and took the groom into custody. After much discussion, a compromise was reached between the families. Yet, the question remains: what exactly happened on the wedding night that led to such turmoil?
The bride recounted her ordeal, explaining that she had gone to their room but fell asleep while waiting for her husband, who did not come in for a long time. When he finally entered, he attempted to wake her, but she remained in a deep sleep. Frustrated, he became angry and began to physically assault her with his belt. Hearing her screams, the in-laws rushed in to rescue her from the abusive groom.
The officer in charge of the Manglapur police station, SK Mishra, confirmed that the groom was brought to the station following the bride's family's complaint. Ultimately, both parties reached an agreement, and they decided against pursuing any legal action.
