Serious Incident Near Firozabad Railway Station
A troubling event unfolded on Thursday evening near the Pemeshwar Gate bridge close to the Firozabad railway station. The Swarn Shatabdi Express, traveling from Lucknow to New Delhi (Train Number 12003), was targeted by unidentified miscreants who threw stones at one of its coaches. This incident caused significant alarm, particularly as Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), was aboard the train at the time. Fortunately, both Bhagwat and all other passengers remained unharmed during the attack. The occurrence took place on the Etawah-Tundla rail segment.
Police Response and Investigation
According to police officials, Mohan Bhagwat was indeed traveling on the Shatabdi Express and is reported safe. The stone-throwing incident was reported at approximately 7:45 PM, prompting a swift response from law enforcement. Senior officers, including the Superintendent of Police Aditya Laghene, the Superintendent of Railway Police Anil Jha, and the Superintendent of City Police Ravi Shankar Prasad, along with RPF officials, arrived at the scene. Bhagwat was traveling from Kanpur and was seated in coach E1, where he remained unharmed. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter.

In the aftermath of the incident, police and security agencies cordoned off the area around the Pemeshwar Gate bridge. They are currently reviewing footage from all nearby CCTV cameras to identify the stone thrower. Law enforcement has mobilized teams from the Special Operations Group (SOG), surveillance units, and four police stations to assist in the investigation. At present, one suspect is in custody for questioning. Both railway and district police have stated that strict legal action will be taken, and the culprits will be apprehended promptly.
