State-Level Tree Plantation Initiative Launched in Rajasthan

In a significant move towards environmental sustainability, Rajasthan's government has initiated a state-level tree plantation program. Launched by Cooperative Minister Gautam Kumar Dake in Chittorgarh, this initiative encourages each cooperative institution to plant five trees. The program aims to enhance environmental protection while boosting farmers' income through innovative practices like using organic fertilizers and solar energy. Dr. Samit Sharma, the Secretary of Cooperatives, emphasized the importance of these efforts for future generations. The event also featured participation from various officials and staff, highlighting a collective commitment to a greener future.

Tree Plantation Drive Kicks Off in Chittorgarh


On July 4, in Jaipur, Dr. Samit Sharma, the Secretary of the Government and Registrar of Cooperatives, announced the commencement of a state-level tree plantation initiative as part of the Cooperative Week program. The initiative was officially launched by Cooperative Minister Mr. Gautam Kumar Dake at the Primary Cooperative Land Development Bank in Chittorgarh. Dr. Sharma revealed that each cooperative institution across the state is set to plant five trees in their premises or public spaces. All planted saplings will undergo geo-tagging, and responsibilities for their care have been assigned to officials and staff.

Addressing the gathered officials and staff, the Secretary urged them to actively participate in the Green Cooperative Initiatives by increasing tree plantation efforts and taking responsibility for their maintenance, thereby contributing to environmental preservation for future generations.


He emphasized that through the Green Cooperative Initiative, efforts are being made to enhance environmental protection and increase farmers' income. This includes promoting the use of solar energy, organic and nano fertilizers instead of chemical ones, and implementing drip irrigation techniques, alongside encouraging extensive tree planting among farmers.

Dr. Sharma also mentioned that the state-level tree plantation event was held at the RAISEM campus located in the Jhalana institutional area of Jaipur.


The event saw participation from officials and employees of the department and RAISEM.
