Indian spinner Sree Charani has made history by attaining the highest rating points ever recorded in the ICC Women’s T20I Bowling Rankings, following her stellar performances in recent competitions, as reported by the ICC. The left-arm spinner, who currently holds the title of the top-ranked T20I bowler, achieved a remarkable rating of 817 points, eclipsing the previous record of 806 points set by Australia’s Megan Schutt in November 2018.

Charani’s Journey to the Top

Charani was instrumental in India’s triumphs at both the Women’s Asia Cup and the Asian Games. She took 12 wickets during India’s victorious run in the Asia Cup, highlighted by a decisive performance of 4/20 in the final against Sri Lanka, leading India to its eighth title.

During the 2026 Asian Games held in Japan, Charani maintained her exceptional form, achieving career-best figures of 4/10 against the host nation in the quarterfinals. She also contributed two wickets in the gold medal match against Sri Lanka, further elevating her rating to 817 points.
