Speculations Rise Over RCP Singh's Possible Return to JD(U)
RCP Singh's Potential Comeback to JD(U)
Speculation is mounting regarding the potential return of former Union Minister RCP Singh to the Janata Dal (United) or JD(U). Once considered one of the closest allies of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Singh was previously expelled from the party. Both leaders, who share ties to the Patel community, were invited to a Makar Sankranti feast organized by the community on Sunday. However, they arrived at different times and did not meet. Despite this, Singh's comments following Kumar's departure have reignited rumors about his re-entry into JD(U).
RCP Singh Praises Nitish Kumar
There are growing speculations that the expelled RCP Singh might be seen alongside Nitish Kumar once again. When asked about his potential return to JD(U) after the auspicious period of Kharmaas, Singh praised the Chief Minister, stating that Nitish Kumar is a respected leader in Bihar and enjoys popularity among the people. He remarked, "Why do you think we are two different individuals? We are one. We have worked together for 25 years. Is there anyone who knows him as well as I do, or does he know anyone as well as he knows me?"
Future Prospects and Political Moves
When directly questioned about rejoining JD(U) after Kharmaas, Singh hinted, "You will find out soon enough." In May 2024, he allied with Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party, vowing to challenge his former mentor in the upcoming assembly elections. After his expulsion from JD(U), he also formed his own party called 'Aap Sabki Awaaz'. Singh, who previously served as the Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, held significant organizational roles within the party and even led it for a period.
Background on RCP Singh's Departure
However, in 2022, Singh had to leave the party after falling out of favor with the Chief Minister, who accused him of accepting a cabinet position without permission. Subsequently, Singh joined the BJP in 2023 after leaving JD(U).
