South-West District Police Reunites 142 Missing Individuals in July
Successful Operation Milap
New Delhi, Aug 1: In an impressive effort showcasing their commitment and empathy, the South-West District Police managed to locate and reunite 142 individuals, which included 61 children and 81 adults, with their families throughout July as part of ‘Operation Milap’.
From July 1 to July 31, the police initiated thorough search operations right after receiving notifications about missing or abducted persons.
Their strategies involved conducting local inquiries, monitoring CCTV footage, and reaching out at bus terminals, train stations, and other public transport areas.
They also collected information from drivers, conductors, vendors, and local informants.
Additionally, they meticulously reviewed records from nearby police stations and hospitals to assist in their search.
As reported by the Delhi Police, from January 1 to July 31, 2025, the district police have successfully reunited a total of 801 missing individuals, which includes 258 children and 543 adults.
Several key police stations were instrumental in the success of the operation during July. Police Station (PS) Kapashera located 8 children and 15 adults; the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) teams recovered 22 children and 1 adult; PS Sagarpur reunited 9 children and 9 adults; and PS Palam Village traced 3 children and 15 adults. PS Vasant Kunj South and PS Delhi Cantt each brought back 10 and 9 missing individuals respectively, along with several missing children.
Other stations such as Kishangarh, Vasant Kunj North, R.K. Puram, S.J. Enclave, Vasant Vihar, Sarojini Nagar, and South Campus also played a significant role, collectively reuniting many more individuals with their families.
“Through 'Operation Milap', the South-West District Police have demonstrated their dedication to public service by ensuring the safe return of 142 missing individuals to their homes. Their compassionate approach, combined with thorough investigations and prompt actions, has provided hope and relief to numerous distressed families,” stated DCP Amit Goel from the South-West District.
