South Africa to Host India and Australia Women's Cricket Teams for ICC Championship
Upcoming Women's Cricket Tours
South Africa is preparing to welcome the women's cricket teams from India and Australia as part of the ICC Women's Championship cycle for 2025-29. Each tour will feature a one-off Test match, according to the ICC's official announcement.
The Indian women's team is scheduled to visit South Africa in December for a series of three ODIs, which will contribute to the qualification process for the 2029 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup. This series will also include a Test match, marking the fourth red-ball contest between these two teams and the second Women's Test to take place in Gqeberha.
Australia's Tour Details
In March 2027, the Australian women's team will tour South Africa, participating in three T20Is, three ODIs, and a Test match.
The upcoming four-day Test will be only the second instance of red-ball cricket between Australia and South Africa, following their previous encounter in Perth in February 2024, where Australia achieved a significant victory by an innings and 284 runs.
CSA's Excitement for the Summer
CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki expressed enthusiasm about the announcement, stating, "We are thrilled to host two of the world's top teams, India and Australia, for what is expected to be an exciting home summer for the Proteas Women."
He further noted, "These tours will highlight the best of international women's cricket and build on the increasing fan attendance, as we continue to see larger crowds at our iconic venues across the country."
