Following Sourav Ganguly's induction into the ICC Hall of Fame, tributes have been pouring in from the cricketing world. Notable figures like Sachin Tendulkar and Yuvraj Singh have led the way in congratulating one of the most significant leaders in Indian cricket history.


Ganguly received this prestigious honor on his 54th birthday, marking him as the 12th Indian and the 10th male cricketer from India to be inducted.


Messages from Fellow Cricketers

Tendulkar, who was Ganguly's opening partner and a key figure in Indian cricket, shared a heartfelt message on X, stating, "Knowing each other since we were 14, this wasn't a surprise. Congratulations @SGanguly99. Thrilled to see you in the @ICC Hall of Fame!"


In response, Ganguly expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you, champion. Being on the same list as you is the greatest job satisfaction ever."


Yuvraj Singh, who thrived under Ganguly's captaincy, also paid tribute, stating, "Congratulations Dada on your induction into the ICC Hall of Fame. Ganguly's Reaction to the Honor

After the announcement on Wednesday, Ganguly expressed his heartfelt thanks to the ICC and its Chairman, Jay Shah. He tweeted, "Thank you ICC and Chairman Jay Shah @JayShah for inducting me into the Hall of Fame. It's a huge honor to be one of the 10 Indians ever inducted. Amazing to be part of such great names. @bcci."


The ICC Hall of Fame, established in 2009 during the governing body's centenary celebrations, honors players who have made remarkable contributions to cricket. Players become eligible for induction five years after their last international match.


Ganguly's Remarkable Career and Leadership

Sourav Ganguly's international career spanned 424 matches, where he scored a total of 18,575 runs, including 38 centuries and 107 half-centuries.


Known as the "God of Offside" for his graceful batting style, he accumulated 7,212 runs in 113 Test matches and 11,363 runs in 311 One-Day Internationals.


As captain, Ganguly played a pivotal role in transforming Indian cricket during challenging times. He led the team in 196 international matches, achieving 97 victories and guiding India to significant milestones, including the 2001 Border-Gavaskar Trophy win against Australia, the first Test series victory in Pakistan in 2004, the 2000 ICC KnockOut Trophy final, and the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup final.


Beyond his achievements, Ganguly is credited with fostering self-belief in the Indian team and supporting a generation of young cricketers, such as MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, and Gautam Gambhir, many of whom played crucial roles in India's future ICC title victories.
