Sonu Nigam's Identity Theft Alert

Mumbai: Renowned singer Sonu Nigam has recently fallen prey to identity theft on social media platforms. He has urged his followers to be vigilant against individuals impersonating his management team.

In a post on Instagram, Nigam expressed, "I have been made aware that someone is misusing my identity online. Please understand that no one from my team has contacted anyone on my behalf for any purpose. If someone claims to be from my management and reaches out unexpectedly, exercise caution!"

He also mentioned that he has not been active on the platform X for the past eight years, and several accounts under his name are being operated by others. Nigam encouraged users to report and block any fake accounts they encounter.

"Additionally, I have not used Twitter/X for the last eight years. Some accounts that people might think are mine are actually managed by someone else, often sharing controversial content in my name. If you see such fake accounts or messages, please REPORT AND BLOCK them," he added.

Expressing gratitude to those who brought this issue to his attention, Nigam stated, "Thank you to everyone who has flagged this matter to me. I appreciate my extended family for their ongoing support and understanding."

In his Instagram post, he concluded, "I wanted to take a moment to clarify something important. If you come across any suspicious or fake messages under my name, it would be helpful if you could report or block the account. Thank you all for your support and understanding."

It's worth noting that singer Shreya Ghoshal also experienced a similar incident when her X account was hacked in March this year, but she successfully regained access with assistance from the X team.
