Sonia Gandhi Hospitalized Due to Health Concerns
Sonia Gandhi Admitted to Hospital for Health Issues
On Wednesday, Sonia Gandhi, a prominent leader of the Congress party and former president, was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. According to sources from the hospital, she was brought in due to complaints of a potential infection in her abdomen and urinary tract. Reports indicate that she arrived at the facility around 10:22 PM on Tuesday, and her condition is currently stable. A specialized team of doctors is conducting further tests to assess the severity of her abdominal and urinary infection.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time she has faced health issues; she was previously hospitalized on March 24 due to fever at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi, where she received treatment for a systemic infection.
Rahul Gandhi Cancels Tour to Be with His Mother
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, visited the hospital following his mother's health concerns, canceling his scheduled tour in Kerala. While addressing a rally virtually in Kozhikode, he expressed his worries about his mother's condition, stating, "I wanted to be there, but I had to stay back today. My mother was admitted to the hospital yesterday, and as her son, I was very concerned about her health, so I decided to stay with her. I know the people of Kerala will understand this. Last night, I was extremely worried about my mother's health, but I found some comfort knowing that a nurse from Kerala was checking on her every hour."
Previous Health Issues
Sonia Gandhi has faced multiple health challenges in the past, including a hospitalization last June due to abdominal issues, during which she was monitored in the gastroenterology department. Additionally, on June 7, 2025, she was admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla.
