Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi. According to sources, her condition is stable, and she is doing well. Currently, she is under the care of a chest specialist.
She was admitted on Monday evening. A hospital source informed that this is a routine procedure. Gandhi has been experiencing a persistent cough and frequently visits the hospital for check-ups, especially during times of high air pollution in the city.
Sonia Gandhi will turn 79 in December 2025.
Recent Health Issues
In recent years, Sonia Gandhi has faced several health challenges. A few months ago, she was hospitalized at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital due to gastrointestinal issues. Her stay in February lasted for one day, during which she was monitored by a gastroenterology specialist.
Previously, on June 19, she was discharged from the same hospital after treatment for a stomach-related illness. The senior leader, aged 79, was admitted on June 15 due to complaints related to an abdominal infection and had been under intensive care for four days.
On June 7, she visited Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla for a routine health check-up due to minor health concerns, as reported by Naresh Chauhan, the media advisor to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.
In September 2022, Gandhi traveled to the United States for medical examinations that had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, accompanied by her son, Rahul Gandhi.
