During a recent address to the residents of Bharmour, Krishna Suryavanshi, the Assistant Engineer from the Electricity Department, provided insights regarding the ongoing transition to smart meters throughout Himachal Pradesh. This initiative is being executed in strict accordance with government regulations.

Suryavanshi noted that smart meters have been successfully installed at all transformers, government facilities, and commercial locations. However, he pointed out that some household consumers are mistakenly resisting the adoption of smart meters, believing they will result in inflated electricity costs.

The Assistant Engineer emphasized that this assumption is incorrect, as smart meters offer precise and transparent consumption tracking. He encouraged consumers with billing inquiries or issues to reach out directly to the department for assistance.

Furthermore, he cautioned that any consumer who hinders the meter replacement process will face appropriate consequences, as obstructing government operations is against the law. In such instances, the consumer will bear full responsibility.
