Theft Investigation in Itanagar

Itanagar, July 28 - In a significant operation, authorities in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, have recovered eleven stolen two-wheelers and apprehended six individuals, including two minors. This information was confirmed by the police.

On Monday, Superintendent of Police (SP) Neelam Nega reported that the operation was initiated following an investigation into a theft case in the nearby Nirjuli area.

According to a police statement, two special investigation teams, led by Sub-Inspector Topi Josam and Sub-Inspector Gopal Tok, conducted a coordinated regional operation utilizing technical surveillance and gathering intelligence to locate the suspects and recover the vehicles. The entire operation was overseen by Assistant Superintendent of Police Rishi Longdo and the officer in charge of Nirjuli police station, Tadu Hasang. The SP urged the public to remain vigilant and exercise caution when parking their vehicles, especially at night.

Additionally, he advised vehicle owners whose two-wheelers have been reported stolen or missing in recent months to contact the SDPO Naharlagun or the Nirjuli police station with valid documentation to facilitate the identification of the recovered vehicles. The SP also mentioned that the investigation is ongoing to uncover the gang's involvement in other thefts and to recover additional stolen property.
