Site Inspection for New Lift Construction in Chamba

Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal has conducted a thorough site inspection for a proposed lift project in Chamba. Three potential locations were evaluated for their feasibility and public convenience. The project aims to enhance accessibility and is set to be submitted for funding to the Asian Development Bank. Additionally, the DC reviewed ongoing repairs on the historic Sheetla Bridge and inspected a proposed puja ghat site. This initiative reflects a commitment to improving infrastructure in the region.

Today, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal conducted a thorough inspection of potential sites for a new lift at Chaugan No. 1.


The inspection involved evaluating three possible locations: Bus Stand, Tatwani, and Kaskada. Factors such as technical viability, accessibility, safety protocols, land availability, and public convenience were meticulously assessed. Officials engaged in discussions to determine the most appropriate and practical site for the lift installation.


The Deputy Commissioner announced that a detailed estimate will be prepared and forwarded to the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Efforts are being made to expedite departmental processes, with all relevant departments instructed to perform in-depth technical assessments and submit feasibility reports promptly to ensure the project progresses on schedule.


Additionally, DC Repaswal visited the proposed site for a puja ghat near Sheetla Temple along the Ravi River. He also inspected the ongoing repairs of the historic Sheetla Bridge, which suffered damage from heavy rainfall, and directed officials to prioritize quality and timely completion of the work.


Accompanying him during the inspection were District Tourism Development Officer Rajiv Mishra, Executive Engineer Joginder Sharma, and other departmental officials, including Jitendra Sharma and Meet Sharma.
