Sikh Community Protests After Arrest of Two Youths in Ambala Incident

In Ambala, a significant protest erupted outside the Panjokhara police station after two Sikh youths were detained in connection with an attack on Gurusimran Singh Mand. The incident, which involved a mob assault on Mand, has led to demands for the immediate release of the detained individuals. Prominent figures, including farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni, participated in the demonstration, warning of a larger movement if their demands are not met. Meanwhile, some community members are calling for legal action against Mand, alleging he attempted to harm others with his vehicle. Protests Erupt in Ambala Over Arrests

Ambala, August 9 – Following the detention of two Sikh youths in connection with an attack on Gurusimran Singh Mand, the leader of the 'International Anti-Khalistani Terrorist Front' (IAKTF), numerous members of the Sikh community staged a protest outside the Panjokhara police station on Sunday. The incident occurred on Friday evening when a mob assaulted Mand outside the Gurudwara Shri Panjokhara Sahib in Ambala, damaging the windows and windshield of his vehicle, resulting in minor injuries to him.


Security personnel later intervened to escort him away from the scene. In response to the incident, police have taken two Sikh youths into custody for questioning. A large crowd gathered outside the Panjokhara police station on Sunday, demanding the immediate release of the detained individuals.


Among the protesters were farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni and officials from the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Kisan Union. Chaduni called for the swift release of the youths, warning that failure to meet their demands could lead to a larger movement. Discussions are ongoing between police and representatives of the Sikh community regarding the situation.


Additionally, some members of the Sikh community have called for a case to be filed against Mand, alleging that he attempted to run over several individuals with his vehicle on Friday.
