Significant Urban Development Initiatives Announced in Anupgarh

In a recent visit to Anupgarh, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced substantial financial support for urban local bodies to enhance repair and development activities during the monsoon. The government is committed to fulfilling public promises, with significant investments in infrastructure, including the restoration of Anupgarh Fort and the establishment of an additional police office. A total of ₹389 crore has been allocated for various development projects in the Sri Ganganagar district. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of local needs in determining repair work and assured that funds will be available for future projects. This initiative marks a significant step towards the region's development and improved public services.
 

Major Financial Allocations for Urban Local Bodies


The government has announced financial support of ₹1 crore for municipalities, ₹3 crore for municipal councils, and ₹10 crore for municipal corporations to enhance repair and development activities during the monsoon season in urban areas.

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma emphasized that the state government is diligently working to fulfill every promise made to the public.


In a significant move, the restoration of the historic Anupgarh Fort has also been announced.


Strengthening Law and Order

Additionally, the establishment of an additional police superintendent's office has been declared to enhance law and order in the region.


During his visit to Anupgarh in the Sri Ganganagar district, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma made these announcements regarding urban local bodies.


Development Projects Launched

He stated that a total of ₹389 crore has been allocated for 131 development projects in the Sri Ganganagar district.



Government's Development Strategy

The Chief Minister noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasizes that in a double-engine government, the same government that lays the foundation for a project should also inaugurate it.


He assured that the double-engine government of the state is committed to fulfilling every promise made to the public.


Local Needs Drive Repair Work

Repair work in urban areas will be determined based on local needs, with a committee chaired by the district collector identifying necessary tasks.


Over the past two and a half years, a budget of ₹1,567 crore has been allocated for the overall development of the Sri Ganganagar district, ensuring that there will be no shortage of funds for future projects.

The Chief Minister announced the establishment of an additional police superintendent's office in Anupgarh, along with the restoration of the historic Anupgarh Fort.


The detailed project report for the Sri Ganganagar-Kotputli Greenfield Expressway is in its final stages.


Investment in Irrigation and Canal Projects

Significant Financial Commitments


The Chief Minister revealed that ₹200 crore is being invested in the reconstruction of permanent channels in the district's 44,000 hectares of irrigated land.


Additionally, ₹185 crore is allocated for the restoration of damaged channels in the Conversions Canal area.


Road Development Initiatives

Under road development, approximately ₹46 crore is being spent on widening the Karanpur-Dhanur-Kesarsinghpur route, ₹40 crore on the Raysinhnagar-Padampur road, and ₹20 crore on the Padampur to Chanan Dham via 20 BT road.


Approval has also been granted for the construction of an ROB at a cost of ₹97 crore on the Suratgarh-Anupgarh route and an RUB at ₹30 crore on LC-119 in Sri Ganganagar.


Support for Women, Farmers, and Youth

Government Initiatives for Empowerment


The Chief Minister stated that the state government is continuously working towards empowering women, farmers, the poor, and youth.


Farmers are receiving ₹9,000 under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, while livestock owners are being provided interest-free loans of up to ₹1 lakh.


Educational Support and Employment Opportunities

For impoverished families, LPG cylinders are available at ₹450, and the social security pension has been increased to ₹1,450 per month.


Additionally, 1 crore eligible individuals have been added to the food security scheme.


Achievements Highlighted by Central Minister

Recognition of Development Efforts


Central Minister of Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, highlighted the benefits of road and railway development in the Anupgarh area under the Bharatmala project.


During the event, checks were distributed to beneficiaries of polyhouses, and young athlete Basant Kumar Meghwal was honored for his outstanding performance at the World Athletics U20 Championship 2026.

  • Construction of 132 kV GSS and related lines in Rawla.

  • District hospital building in Anupgarh and 19 sub-health centers in the assembly area.

  • 11 sub-health centers in Raysinhnagar assembly area, 11 in Shrikaranpur, 7 in Sadulshahar, 6 in Sri Ganganagar, and 5 in Suratgarh assembly area.

  • ₹12 crore for the Kinnow Center of Excellence in Sri Ganganagar.

  • Digital library, auditorium building, and convention center in the mini-secretariat complex of Sri Ganganagar.

  • ₹10 crore for the establishment of an auditorium and RDF and compost plant in Anupgarh.

  • Foundation laid for various road construction projects.
