This unusual administrative reshuffle was executed through separate government orders issued on July 3. The changes involve the minister's private secretary and two additional private secretaries. According to a report, these officials have either been reassigned to their original cadre or had their appointments terminated immediately. The ministry has not publicly disclosed the reasons behind this decision.

Political Speculations Amidst Cabinet Reshuffle Rumors

This development comes at a time when political speculation regarding a possible cabinet reshuffle is intensifying. Administrative changes in the personal staff of ministers often precede cabinet reshuffles, as new ministers typically prefer to select their own teams. However, such staff-level changes do not necessarily confirm an imminent reshuffle. The first order pertains to Amar Singh, an officer from the 2010 batch of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax), who served as the minister's private secretary.

Details of the Orders Issued

The government order states that Amar Singh, IRS (IT:2010), is being returned to his original cadre in the Revenue Department for administrative reasons and is relieved of his duties immediately. Singh was appointed as Yadav's private secretary in 2021 when Yadav also held responsibilities for the Labor and Employment Department. Previously, he served as a deputy secretary and was promoted to the director position in 2024, with his tenure approved until September 7, 2026, or until further notice, whichever comes first.

The second order concerns Shailesh Kumar Singh, the minister's additional private secretary. He has been instructed to report back to his original cadre in the Department of Personnel and Training immediately. Singh has been sent back prematurely to his original cadre and is subject to an extended cooling-off period; he has been relieved of his duties immediately.

The third order relates to Ayush Saran, who was serving as an additional private secretary. The government order states that under the Department of Personnel and Training's O.M. number 23/1/2024… (July 2, 2026) and with the approval of the competent authority, Ayush Saran's appointment as the minister's additional private secretary is terminated immediately, and he is relieved of his responsibilities.
