Shubman Gill, born on September 8, 1999, in Fazilka, Punjab, has evolved from a promising young talent into a vital player in the senior team and its leadership circle. He first gained attention as the Player of the Tournament during India's triumphant 2018 Under-19 World Cup campaign. He made his ODI debut in 2019 and showcased his talent in Test cricket during India's historic tour of Australia in 2020-21.

Gill's notable achievements include scoring 91 runs in India's historic Test win at the Gabba, with his first Test century coming in Chattogram. In January 2023, he made history as the youngest player to score an ODI double-century, hitting 208 against New Zealand.
