Shooting Incident in Patna Sparks Panic After Parking Dispute

A recent shooting incident in Patna's Boring Canal Road area has caused widespread panic after a parking dispute escalated. Unidentified assailants fired multiple shots into the air before fleeing, prompting police to suspend six officers for negligence. The Additional Director General of Law and Order was in the vicinity during the incident, and efforts are underway to identify the attackers through CCTV footage. This alarming event raises significant concerns about public safety in the area.
 

Shooting Incident in Patna

On Saturday evening, a dispute over parking in the Boring Canal Road area of Patna, Bihar, escalated when unidentified assailants fired multiple shots into the air before fleeing the scene. This alarming incident has left the local community in fear, as reported by the police on Sunday.


Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported as a result of the shooting. Avkash Kumar, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Patna, stated that six police officers have been suspended for negligence related to the incident.


Saket Kumar, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of the Secretariat, informed reporters that the attackers were traveling in a black SUV and discharged their firearms several times into the air on Boring Canal Road. Coincidentally, the Additional Director General (ADG) of Law and Order, Pankaj Darad, was returning from a meeting in the vicinity at the same time.


He added that the ADG's security personnel attempted to intercept the assailants by firing into the air near the GPO roundabout, but the suspects managed to escape at high speed. Darad promptly alerted the police control room about the incident.


The SSP mentioned that a team has been formed to investigate the shooting, and efforts are underway to analyze CCTV footage to identify the culprits. Notably, the black SUV used by the attackers did not have a license plate, according to eyewitness accounts.
