A shooting incident at an unauthorized gathering in unincorporated Morgan Hill, California, has resulted in one fatality and seven injuries, according to local authorities. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies were dispatched around 10:16 PM on Saturday to Hale Avenue, near Miramonte Avenue, following complaints about intoxicated individuals obstructing the roadway and bottles being thrown at vehicles.


Upon arrival, deputies encountered a scene described as "chaotic," with over 300 attendees fleeing after multiple gunshots rang out. One individual was declared dead at the scene, while deputies administered first aid to the injured until paramedics arrived. Seven individuals suffering from gunshot wounds were subsequently transported to nearby hospitals.


Authorities suspect that a handgun was involved in this isolated incident, which was reportedly promoted on social media.
