The complainant, identified as Pankhi Jatav, alleged that the woman he married is not a female but a transgender person. He made this discovery during their wedding night. According to Pankhi, he immediately called his father-in-law at midnight to express his concerns, but received no support. After a few days of grappling with the truth, Pankhi sent his wife, Manisha, back to her parental home. However, her family began pressuring him to take her back, with threats from his father-in-law escalating to physical harm.

Pankhi eventually lodged a complaint against his in-laws and wife, demanding action. He learned about Manisha's transgender identity on their wedding night and informed his elder brother, Phoolsingh, and sister, Saroj, the following day.
