Tragic Incident in Kailash Hills

Delhi Crime News: A horrific incident has shaken the upscale Kailash Hills area of Delhi, where the 22-year-old daughter of an IRS officer was murdered and raped. The police apprehended the suspect, Rahul Meena, a former employee, from a hotel in Dwarka. Following his arrest, testimonies and evidence have emerged, indicating his criminal mindset and premeditated actions. Local shopkeepers and drivers reported seeing Rahul near the society early Wednesday morning. According to a shopkeeper, residents recognized him as he had previously worked in the area. They questioned him about his presence after being fired from his job, to which he deceitfully claimed he was looking for new work and asked to be informed if anything came up.

At around 6:30 AM, as he entered the society, several drivers confronted him. The police revealed that Rahul was aware that the victim's parents left for the gym in the morning. He waited for them to leave and entered the house at precisely 6:39 AM, knowing where the spare key was kept.

40 Minutes of Horror

Joint Commissioner Vijay Kumar stated that Rahul committed this heinous act in just 40 minutes. He entered the house at 6:39 AM and exited by 7:20 AM. When the victim's parents returned around 8 AM, they were horrified to find their daughter lying in a pool of blood on the floor, with the house in disarray. CCTV footage revealed that after the crime, Rahul changed his shoes and trousers to conceal his identity.

A Pattern of Violence

Rahul Meena's criminal behavior extends beyond Delhi. Investigations revealed that just a night before this murder, he had raped a friend’s wife in Alwar, Rajasthan. The victim reported that her husband was away at a wedding, allowing Rahul to exploit the situation and commit the crime. The following day, he perpetrated this second major incident in Delhi.

Motivation Behind the Crime

Originally from Rajgarh in Alwar, Rahul was deeply addicted to online gaming and gambling, accumulating significant debt. This addiction led him to embezzle money from the officer's home, resulting in his dismissal a month and a half prior. Seeking revenge for this humiliation and needing money, he stole 2.5 lakh rupees and murdered the young woman.

Police Investigation and Arrest

To capture the suspect, the Delhi police formed 15 teams. They tracked down the auto-rickshaw that Rahul used to flee, thanks to CCTV footage. The auto driver provided information about the OYO hotel in Dwarka where he dropped Rahul off. The police set up a perimeter and arrested him. Rahul now faces serious charges of rape, murder, and robbery in both Delhi and Rajasthan.
